An Uncommon Woman - The Empress Frederick: Daughter of Queen Victoria, Wife of the Crown Prince of Prussia, Mother of Kaiser Wilhelm II - by Hannah Pakula. Fascinating! History told within a personal setting, fascinating personalities showing the creation of modern Germany leading into WW1 and the forces that influenced it. A great read!
"The Far Traveler: Voyages of a Viking Woman" by Nancy Marie Brown is an excellent book which combines the available historical and archaeological evidence of a Viking woman who was one of the first European explorers to reach North America.
