Baking soda neutralizes the ph in the soil and nothing will grow there. use baking soda around all of the edges of flower beds to keep the grass and weeds from growing into beds. Just sprinkle it onto the soil so that it covers it lightly. Do this twice a year - spring and fall. Awesome!
Definitely LOVE this idea! Lemon grass is a natural mosquito repellent and grows quite tall. Plant some in deep planters and place on the patio or where you will have people sitting, and you will also have a privacy hedge with the height the grass grows. The scent is very appealing, not like sprays that contain deet! It's a perennial grass so you won't have to worry about planting it again!!
