The ground floor yoga studio is entered through a pair of antique Chinese doors and the double height living space is loosely modeled on traditional Asian courtyard houses.

East River Penthouse Apartment / While this 50th floor penthouse had stunning views, it also had dilapidated finishes and a leaky window wall system from the mid 1980’s. The apartment was gutted. East Hampton Weekend Home and Poolhouse / This weekend home is located on a parcel of land facing the water. In order to provide every room with views, the spaces are oriented towards the bay with large window and door openings. Major rooms open directly onto porches allowing the family to enjoy the outdoors throughout the summer. Architecturally, the house respects the shingle style tradition of East Hampton, but it is well insulated and provided with low-e window units.

Offices: Financial Services Firm / The plan arrangement of this high floor midtown office building was calculated to provide views and natural light to all of the occupants. Interior lighting is controlled by light sensors which dim the fixtures based on the natural light level, thus significantly reducing energy consumption. The elevator corridor is articulated with walnut trimmed “lanterns” through which natural light flows from the open office area on the opposite side of the tiled, feature wall.

The floor plans are organized around internal “courtyard” spaces containing trading and support services bounded by glass enclosed offices occupied by management and research personnel.
