The image above is the Bauhaus school. The Bauhaus school was founded by Walter Gropus in 1919. This movement was one of the most influential modern movements and was characterized by an absence of ornamentation and harmony between the design of a building and its function. Modern homes as described by Le Corbusier were protected by free standing supports, roof gardens, free plans/ribbon windows and freely composed facades.
