    There is a collection of 650 red and white American quilts at the Park Avenue Armory in NY that look like they could literally blow your mind.

    barn quilt - beautiful work! I wonder if the path to the barn was was first "bleached" out then painted, or if the green grass was built up on top of a lighter background?

    Love the big hexes and contrast binding.

    The quilt was pieced. If you try this on your own, make sure not to sew the strips of fabric together in a rectangular shape, otherwise you will have a lot of waste. Sew them together offset, like steps. Keep in mind that you’ll need the stepped strip sets (say that ten times fast!) going in two different directions to make this pattern.
