Ginseng root is a slow-growing perennial herb native to the mountain forests of northeastern China, Korea, and the far eastern regions of the Russian Federation.
Ginseng/ Ginseng Family Ginseng root comes in two base forms: the unprocessed dried root, or white ginseng (uncured), and the steamed fresh root (then dried) or Red ginseng (cured). Normally dried the root is cream to tan in color. After steaming the root becomes dark red, almost translucent, rust colored. Both forms share a majority of therapeutic properties.
