An lovely antique porcelain Veilleuse-Theieres, or 'night-light' teapot. Items like this one were used in 18th through mid-19th c. to hold a candle - they acted as both nightlight & tea warmer. This elegant "Lady of the Court" holds a fan (the spout) - her powdered wig, gown & little dog would suit Marie!  It is in the Trenton Teapot Collection - world's largest collection of Veilleuses-Theieres.
