Thomas Jefferson was a Deist. He believed in an Intelligent Designer. He just didn't believe all the myths about Jesus - which is why he made up his own Bible. He removed anything to do with miracles from the gospels, but kept all of Jesus' teachings. This is now called the Jefferson Bible.
