    I think Elie Wiesel was mentioned in class the other day. He was a Holocaust survivor, and he recounts his experience in Nazi Germany and a concentration camp in Night. I can't remember which camp he was in- I read Night when I was a sophomore in high school!

★ ★ (48%) It's certainly uneven, and many viewers will find that its reach exceeds its grasp, but The Book of Eli finds the Hughes brothers injecting some fresh stylish fun into the kind of post-apocalyptic wasteland filmgoers have seen more than enough of lately (source: www.rottentomatoe...).

I have to thank a fellow writer for introducing me to this. Hard-hitting and yet, amazing as to how awesome the human spirit is.

Into the Wild: The story of idealist Christopher Johnson McCandless, and his travels through the Alaskan wilderness. Had he not met misfortune, I think McCandless would have led the life of, say, an Edward Abbey. A sad, cautionary tale told with sensitively by author Jon Krakauer.
