"It’s not often that I am reading a book, gasp aloud, and then re-read a paragraph because I can’t believe what has just happened." - Robyn fell in love with THE CHAPERONE
The End of Your Life Book Club: This is the inspiring true story of a son and his mother, who start a “book club” that brings them together as her life comes to a close. Over the next two years, Will and Mary Anne carry on conversations that are both wide-ranging and deeply personal, prompted by an eclectic array of books and a shared passion for reading.
Not only can you get your literary passport stamped twice with Hemingway's romp through Paris and Pamplona, but you can enjoy an immersive mood piece about the highs and lows of drunken, rambling youth.
The Paris Wife- just finished this book--makes me want to read Hemingway all over again!
I was unprepared for the visceral sex scenes in this book, but the characterization and plot made it a compelling read. The author has a very distant, dry writing style which may not appeal to every reader. I cried more than once while reading it, however, so his style did not prevent me from empathizing with his characters.
