"All the time the ghosts flit past and through us, hiding in the future. We look in the mirror and see the shades of other faces looking back through the years; we see the shape of memory, standing solid in an empty doorway. By blood and by choice, we make our ghosts; we haunt ourselves." __Diana Gabaldon, Drums of Autumn
I have always liked the look of dripping wax candles, elegant and spooky at the same time...I found the best way to get a candle to "drip" is to put a light fan on them while they are melting, not enough to blow the flame out, but enough to push the wax off the top of the candle as it melts. Of course you have to move the fan around or it will all drip on one side.
