"The master bedroom has a very retro feel to it with the pink, tangerine, and lavender color palette, the paisley linen, and the zigzag Missoni-esque pattern on the floor," says designer Mona Ross Berman.
Berman used quieter shades of her palette in the guest room. "Even when I don't use the same colors everywhere, I still like the room to feel connected. The bedroom should never feel like it’s in a completely different house from the living room—the whole house has to make sense as one."
Painted wood floor: fill in any large gouges or scrapes, and sand the entire floor lightly. you can use nearly any paint on the floor, but if you're concerned about it rubbing off with traffic, talk to the people in the paint store/department. you can also get clear acrylic sealer to paint over the floor once it's dried and once cured, it'll protect the paint job.
