German apple pancake. Cook some apples in a cast iron skillet, pour batter over them, and put the whole thing in a preheated oven. Remove, flip the pancake onto a plate, sprinkle with powdered sugar and voila

German Pancakes - was introduced to these in Canada this summer, definitely going to have to make this. The lemon and powdered sugar is definitely my fave!

I haven't met one German that eats this, they don't even say pancake it crepes!

My aunt by marriage grew up with her mom, who was born in Munich and didn't even come to the US until he was in her mid 20s, making these. My aunt calls them German pancakes as well. Her mom ate them with applesauce or jam, my aunt and her siblings with syrup and powdered sugar. She recently made them for me and I had them with just powdered sugar. They're quite different from crepes! Glad to see a recipe!!

Dutch Babies differ from crepes and pancakes by having more egg base than flour. And they squeeze the fresh lemon juice onto the dutch baby at the table, as well as the powdered sugar.

My mom calls them crepes. Not German Pancakes. My whole family is German. Mama would make these for dinner and put ice cream or apple sauce with it and powdered sugar.

German Apple Cake - Martha Stewart . My husband loves any dessert with "German" in the title.

Fruit filled German pancakes made in muffin tins - these are really fun, but you have to make a lot *update* I made 2 1/2 batches and it fed 6 adults and 4 kids with probably a dozen leftover. Each batch does approx. 18 in a regular sized muffin tin. The triple berry sauce was delicious and it saves in the fridge for at least a month! Great as a spread on rolls as well @Influenster @dinolingo
