The Watermill Cottage built for Marie Antoinette in 1783 at Versailles. One of the cottages in the The Hameau de la Reine (The Queen's Hamlet) that served as a private meeting place for the Queen & her closest friends, a place of leisure. Hamlet consisted of a variety of different cottages & buildings, all built around a small lake. The Queen of opulence longed for her own cozy cottage, even though she lived in the most beautiful palace in the world!
