Rod-eyed Tree Frog, copyright Will Burrard-Lucas. Another beautiful frog from Costa Rica… this is a red-eye tree frog. At night they feed on crickets, moths and other insects. Their red eyes may seem conspicuous, but when these frogs press themselves against a leaf and shut their eyes, they become very hard to spot! I found this one by homing in on its croaks!

Here are great and amazing tree frog pictures. A tree frog is a small species of frogs that spends most of its life in the trees. They are mainly found in the trees and forests of the warmer regions.

This photo from the TrekNature travel gallery is titled 'Baby Tree Frog Photo'.

Tiger's Treefrog. This species was only recently described in 2008 in the jungles of Colombia and Ecuador. A population size estimate only puts fewer than 250 mature individuals in the wild.

Habitat: Colombia, Ecuador Status: Endangered This awesome frog is the Tiger’s Treefrog (Hyloscirtus tigrinus) and I’m sure you can see how it got its common name. If a tiger and a frog hooked up… well, you’d get this guy.
