In 1909 Wayne County built the first mile of concrete highway in the world. Located on Woodward between Six and Seven Mile roads. The cost for this one mile road was $13,537, including $1,000 in state aid.

The Ambassador Bridge for those who aren't familiar with the Michigan area, connects Detroit, MI to Windsor, Ontario, Canada. The underwater tunnel is less than 2 miles east, down this Detroit River.
