Laurel Lukaszewski | Laurel Lukaszewski is a Washington, DC area based artist who creates installations and sculptures primarily from clay—usually porcelain or stoneware

"Memorial" - This installation sculpture is made up of wheelthhrown and manipulated pieces glazed with a a dry crackle surface highlighted with oxides to represent the organic nature of the earth. The multiplicity of the sculpture represents "chaos" or "implicate order" where everything is interdependent on each other to make up the "whole" - in this way the sculpture is an environmental comment.
