Consider the placement of your Christmas tree (will the room be big enough?), add extra power outlets in places you may wish to hang lights (banisters, mantles) so that cords can be more easily hidden, consider adding power outlets (with weatherproof covers) to the exterior of the house (under the eaves of the roof) for fairly-lights so there won't be the need for a multitude of extension cords (doubly convenient if power tools need to be used in high places)

Previous. Pinner said : "The garland is a made from two, 15 foot sections from Target. I then wrapped the banister in 500 lights, added the large ornaments, the silver ones, and then 100 jingle bells." - I guess the secret to a lush garland is to use 2!
