This is a short clip over nonrenewable and renewable resources that I would show my students as an introduction to the lesson on natural resources. It is a great way to lead into a lesson where I can ask my students what they learned from the video and what they think we are learning about. -KT

This link describes a lesson that teaches that sometimes humans take more natural resources than nature can reproduce. Students are split into groups and given pretzel sticks that represent trees. Each student has a job either planting, cutting down or recording. This lesson is a great way to introduce the concept of why conservation is important and could lead into a lesson on how to conserve.

This site is loaded with information from U.S. and world history to geography to current events to timelines. It is a great social studies resource!
