    Ginger Picture Cake from 1948 PYREX ad | 2 cups flour; 1/2 tsp. salt; 3/4 tsp. baking powder; 3/4 tsp. baking soda; 1 1/2 tsp. ginger; 2/3 cup sugar; 1 egg; 3/4 cup dark molasses; 3/4 cup boiling water; 1/2 cup shortening -- Sift flour once, then measure. Sift flour & dry ingredients together. Add egg & molasses. Now mix well. Pour boiling water over shortening in PYREX measure. Add to mixture & beat. Pour into greased PYREX cake dish & bake 45 minutes at 325˚ F. Top with whipped cream.
