How To Limit Kids' TV & Computer Time: Each Sunday give the kids 10 tickets for the week. Each ticket = 30 minutes of TV, game system, computer, etc. Tickets can be used consecutively, but when they are out they are out for the week.
Behavior Chart: Begin at "Good Job" every day. If a child is on any green space at the end of the day they get 5 pom poms in their jar. When the jar is full the child gets their pre-chosen reward (treat, prize, night out with mom or dad, etc. LOVE this!

Such an awesome idea - toys that are not picked up go in the ransom box and they have to pick a chore to complete to earn it back! A great lesson in personal responsibility. I don't know about calling it a Ransom Box though!
Calming jar-tell child that they need a break and may come back when everything has settled to the bottom - I think I love this idea. Better than a simple time out for temper tantrums. May even help when you juSt need to calm down.
