Play Clay - Mix 1 cup (200g) baking soda & 1/2 cup (100g) cornstarch. Add 2/3 cup (150g) warm water in pan. Stir gently until smooth. Place pan over medium heat & bring to boil an stir until mixture is consistency of mashed spuds. Pour onto board to cool. Knead when cool & separate and add colouring & crushed chalk. Mould into desired shape & let dry & harden for several hours. Can always paint when dry & cover with clear nail polish for shine. Makes 1 1/2 cups. Keep in airtight container
• 1 box baking soda (about 2 cups) • 1 cup cornstarch • 11/2 cups water • Sauce pan • Bowl • Spoon • Plastic wrap Mix all the ingredients in a saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring consistently, until it is too thick to stir with a spoon. Cool for 15 minutes, or until the dough is cool enough to touch. Knead it for about 5 minutes, or until smooth. Keep dough wrapped in plastic. Once you have molded it, it will take 1-2 days for the clay to dry.
Materials 2 cups salt 2/3 cups water Saucepan 1 cup cornstarch 1/2 cup cold water Directions Stir salt and water in a saucepan over heat 4-5 minutes. Remove from heat; add cornstarch and cold water. Stir until smooth; return to heat and cook until thick. Allow the clay to cool, then shape as desired. When dry, decorate with paint, markers, glitter, and so on. If you like, finish with clear acrylic spray or clear nail polish. Store unused clay in a Ziploc bag.
