Done in 5 minutes - Easy way to have herbs in the kitchen! Line the bottom of a mason jar with glass beads or marbles, then layer in potting mix, and then add the plant, and top with more glass beads. The photo shows Alyssum and Rosemary - and while Alyssum may seem like an odd choice for an "herb garden" it would be pretty in a kitchen, and does well with irregular watering - always important!

Inexpensive tubs make great planters & add so much to any garden space. Cheap ones can be picked up at yard sales, flea markets, and even at home decor surplus stores like Old Time Pottery.
