take doors off closet, paint, create shelves, install counter for desk area (look at Menards or Lowe's or Fleet Farm for 'odd sized counters' for sale), maybe mirror part of the back wall for 'light purposes, install outlets for plug-in stuff, slide plastic 3 or 4 drawer bins under counter for storage of office/scrapbook/craft stuff...voila!
I like the look of this- Corner of bedroom...such a good idea. easy transition through childs stages of life ( from coloring to homework to make/up & hair to studying to computer) .. then nice for a guest room/office after kids are done with it!) Or corner office in basement

I love the pattern/stencil on the wall behind the shelves! ******** If my office space had to be this small, this would be a good way to organize things - or this could simply be a "computer nook" or "work space" nearby the living room or kitchen, not necessarily an office.
