Tennessee's state bird is the mockingbird." ...Mockingbirds don't do one thing but make music for us to enjoy. They don't eat up people's gardens, don't nest in corncribs, they don't do one thing but sing their hearts out for us." Harper Lee, To Kill A Mockingbird.

This reminds me of how mocking birds are innocent and do nothing wrong. Guess that's why they are the state bird of Mississippi.

Mockingbird, you don't really appreciate until you get older. He will sing all day to mark his territory his many mimicked songs are beautifully orchestrated randomly. He thinks he is confusing the other birds believing there are many birds in the area when there is only one. If you watch him he is very territorial.
