Contemporary Windows - "First Frost" In a series of collections - One in a series of windows we created to simulate the last few days of fall in the vineyard. Beveling stained glass, fusing other portions, and sculpturing the solder for depth, we were able to bring out the true character of the piece.

Fifield's Windows of St. Marys Collection. Butterfly Stained Glas

Stained glass panel in the nave of St. John's Anglican Church, Ashfield, New South Wales (NSW). This window depicts the infant Jesus being presented at the Temple. The title banner reads "Lord now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace" (Luke 2:29), a reference to the old man Simeon, who had waited to see the Christ.

Stained Glass Panel with a Knight and His Patron Saint Date: ca. 1505–8 - These four scenes are probably part of the glazing from the Cistercian church at Mariawald, located southwest of Cologne. Here, the Cologne glass painters adapted color to the traditional fondness for white glass, so that large areas of saturated color are combined with equally large sections of grisaille. These windows are stylistically related to the windows in the north isle of the Cologne cathedral.

On March 20 we celebrate Saint Cuthbert Bishop of Lindisfarne (7th cent), the "Wonderworker of Britain" renowned for his miracles. 11 years after his death relics were found incorrupt, exuding the "sweetest fragrance," and flexible as though he was asleep. The body was again found incorrupt 900 years later, when King Henry VIII desecrated Saint Cuthbert's shrine to remove valuables. The tomb was officially sealed in 1542.
