This can kill your gums. I would suggest brushing gently on teeth.

My dentist told me to gargle with hydrogen peroxide many years ago- equal parts peroxide & water. I often get compliments on my bright smile and I attribute it to that practice.

I've used both hydrogen peroxide and baking soda before & they work great! It's nice to have a written down regimen with actual measurements, though :] --Homemade Teeth Whitening.

This works! I added a little hydrogen peroxide and my teeth are blinding :)

Brighten yellow teeth quickly with a little dab of hydrogen peroxide.

I am never buying white strips again!: dip q-tip in hydrogen peroxide (the key ingredient in whitestrips) and apply to surface of teeth for 30 sec before brushing teeth) once a day for a few days. My teeth looked noticeably whiter after doing this only 2x

very unsafe for the oral mucosa

If you use the 3% hydrogen peroxide solution than it is safe to use. On the back of the bottle it should say you can use it as a mouthwash. If dentists say it is safe, I'm going with it.

  • Laurie Dew

Yeah the dentists I work for say it is very unsafe. Also I'm in nursing school and we are taught that it is not safe. But by all means give it a try! Your loss

lol if you think that's someone being a dick and/or passive aggressive I would hate to see how you react if someone is actually those things towards you.

I also heard about this remedy and personally asked my dentist and he himself said it was perfectly fine just no lemon juice which is also a "remedy" he also told me that most toothepastes have chalk in them which grinds your enamel down each use. Baking soda & peroxide combo or seperate is fine for your teeth.

Funny, I asked my dentist as well. He said that using hydrogen peroxide as a teeth whitener (so you're leaving it in your mouth for extended periods of time) causes your gums to become more porous and that it will result in damaged tastebuds causing everything to taste metallic.

  • Jodi West

ive never heard of leaving the peroxide on the teeth or gum area, all I was told was it was fine to make a paste of baking soda and peroxide and brush teeth as normal. Im sure anything left anywhere on your body for an extended period of time would cause harm.
