The Porter pattern was inspired by construction--Strip Quilting is a traditional technique in which large stripes are sewn together and then cut down, and re-arranged to create a new pattern--this method is used to speed up the process of patchwork quilting--known as a slow and tedious process. For Porter, strips were made, cut down, and then sewn back into strips.

Love how asymetrical and not perfect this one is... lots of details in the quilting stitches as well!
