US - Alaska - Talketna. Stay at The Alaskan Lodge in July. Days are long, salmon are swimming up stream, and attend the annual "Moose Dropping Festival". Talketna calls itself a "drinking town with a climbing problem". The National Park check in and flight to the base camp for hiking Mt. McKinley are located here. Take the K-2 Flight to the glaciers and base camp. A bit unnerving at first, but once you land and walk on the glacier, and the sights seen there and back are truly memorable!
