Gulpiyuri Beach, Llanes, Spain "Only 160 feet long, Gulpiyuri probably wouldn’t be worth a visit if it didn’t have the distinction of being a completely inland beach. Formed by a sinkhole and surrounded by green grass and limestone cliffs, this novel beach is so small that the sand nearly disappears at high tide and there’s almost no water at low tide." Gulpiyuri Beach, located in a field near Llanes in Spain, is a remarkable place. Completely surrounded by farmland, this gorgeous little inland cove looks like something out of Alice in Wonderland. The beach sits on a depression beneath sea level, and water travels to the beach through underground caves. The water is tidal, and it even laps the shore. The best thing about it though, there's almost no crowds.
