"Drill, Baby Dril!l" 2009, Found Objects, 4' x 3' x 3'. NFS. An oil drum, desk and chair, and stack of drilling statistical data sheets form this object. As if literally drilled out of a layer of society, this plop art looking sculpture comes to life. Initially this work was meant to point out the politics of contemporary oil consumption. Given its assembly in the middle of the marcellus shale deposit, at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. This work stands as a representative of the complexity and precariousness of the drilling economy we have today.
