This gorgeous strapless white organdy gown, embroidered by hand with black and white flowers, with attached train, was not the creation of legendary film costumer Edith Head — even though she won the Oscar for it. Rather, it was the work of designer Hubert de Givenchy. Called, The Sabrina Dress, it was worn by Audrey Hepburn in the 1954 movie, SABRINA. Utterly splendid!

Court dress, Worth, ca. 1890. Brocaded satin woven with gold silk roses. Front plastron & skirt panels covered with silk floss & pearl-beaded roses. Hanging sleeves edged in silver braid. Made for the Russian court. Kerry Taylor Auctions/Invaluable
