Worth Reading, Child Called, Books Worth, Children, Bookworm, Favorite Books, Lost Boys
A very emotional read. Pelzer has several books on his story, this is the follow up to A Child Called "It". He is an inspiration to show that people can have a horrid childhood but still grow up to be a mentally stable contributor to society. He doesn't do bad things & justify it with his damage. He amazes me.
Sequel to A Child Called It; just as heart breaking as the first, but also just as good of a read!
The Lost Boy (1970) is the second installment of a trilogy of books which depict the life of Dave Pelzer, who as a young boy who was physically, emotionally, and psychologically abused by his obsessive mother. The book discusses Pelzer's struggling with his ability to fit in and adapt to the new environment around him as he is put into foster care. It also talks about the kindness of his foster parents and other people around him as well as his inability to brush his mother aside.
Continuation of A child called it. One of my favorite books!!!

The Lost Boy - this is the second book about Dave Pelzer's life. I require all of my graduate students to read his book titled "A Child Called It".
The Lost Boy by Dave Pelzer I also read, A Child Called It, and a Man Named Dave, but I need to buy them all and read them again
The Lost Boy by Dave Pelzer, 2nd book to A Child Called "It" - Kindle $9.39 Paperback $10.39 on Amazon.com
The Lost Boy by Dave Pelzer I also read, A Child Called It, and a Man Named Dave. But this book, the 2nd in the series is what really struck me.
The Lost Boy by Dave Pelzer The follow up to "A Child Called It" but it isn't necessary to read first. This is Dave's story of escaping an abusive mother only to be placed in foster care and his search for a family to love him. *Frisco Public Library Overdrive
The Lost Boy by Dave Pelzer....the entire series are well worth reading!

The Last Child by John Hart. This IS a good book. Compelling, good plot and strong characters make this worth reading.
The Last Child by John Hart my Second lock for book club. For Sine reason I love books on mi as sibg children. This made me think of lovely bones.
The Last Child by John Hart. (2010) 13 year old Johnny Merrimon risks everything to search for his twin sister while the detective in charge of the case breaks from convention when a second child goes missing.
This was a book club selection. A thriller with twists, turns and a good ending. When it ends you realize there are many "Lost Children" in the story.
Psychological Suspense. In Raven County, NC, 13-year-old Johnny Merrimon is still obsessed with his twin sister's disappearance a year ago. Convinced that Alyssa is alive, he looks for her everywhere, even staking out the homes of local sex offenders. Detective Clyde Hunt hasn't been able to let go of the case either, to the detriment of both his marriage and his relationship with his son.
"The Last Child" by John Hart -- A year after his twin sister disappears, Johnny knows she's still alive and continues to search. Then a second girl goes missing ...
After his twin sister Alyssa disappears, thirteen year-old Johnny Merrimon is determined to find her. "The third tale in David Pelzer's autobiographical trilogy, A Man Named Dave is an inspiring story of terror, recovery, and hope experienced by the author throughout his life. Known for his work as a child abuse advocate, Pelzer has been commended by several U.S. presidents and international agencies, and his previous memoirs of growing up as an abused child (A Child Called "It" and The Lost Boy)"
The gripping conclusion to Dave Pelzer’s inspirational and New York Times bestselling trilogy that began with A Child Called "It" and The Lost Boy.
The third in the series... "A child called It" , "The lost boy", and "A man named Dave." ... This series will make you cry . Makes you so angry that this kind of abuse happens every day to kids.
Of course after reading A Child Called It and The Lost Boy I had to read the third book A Man Named Dave. All fast reads!

If you're familiar with Madame Butterfly, the opera, or the short story by John Luther Long that inspired it, you'll savor Butterfly’s Child — a continuation to this dramatic story. And even if you've never heard of Madame Butterfly, you won't miss a beat as you enjoy Angela Davis-Gardner's masterful storytelling.
Butterfly's Child: A Novel 3-old Benji is plucked from the security of his home in Nagasaki to live with his American father, in Illinois; the family conceals Benji’s true identity as a child born from a liaison between an officer and a geisha—and instead tells everyone that he is an orphan. When the truth surfaces, it will splinter this family’s fragile dynamic and send Benji on the journey of a lifetime.
Inspired by Puccini's opera, Madame Butterfly, the story is set in the late 1890s and follows Benji, a half-Japanese, half-American boy born to a Nagasaki geisha, Cio-Cio. He's adopted at age five when his father, Frank Pinkterton, returns to Japan on his honeymoon with his American wife, Kate. Upon learning of Frank's abandonment of her, Cio-Cio kills herself and begs Frank to take care of their son. Frank and Kate conspire to hide Benji's true birth, and they invent a story about seeing him at
