Half the Sky, by Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn. A *must read* for everyone.

The book is about the struggles of two Afghan women. It highlights the beauty and pride in being a woman in spite of a world that is systemically violent and unjust toward women. It also emphasizes the strength that women have in the bonds they share with other women.

Mocking Jay, Suzanne Collins. Not my favorite of the series, but it was a nice closing to a solid series.
