Apple Pie Caramel Apples. I tried these and although I made a huge mess out of my kitchen in the process, they were delicious!! They tasted like the ones from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. But in the recipe she said to use white chocolate...WRONG...I used white almond bark. You could also probably use the vanilla candy melts they sell in the cake decorating section of A.C.Moore, etc.

    It's because they are to wet, large ones work because the Apple has skin on them. Might work for a bit longer but Prolly end of melding off again I dipped them in chocolate first then Carmel it worked that way cause the chocolate hardened to the apple

    Wish i would have read these comments before i attempted to make them, by the time i was done i had exactly what was mentioned. naked apple what a waste of time i broke my back standing making these and made 2 trays of it. It even made me late to christmas dinner arrrg!!!

    The chocolate covered sounds like a smart idea but you could use the apples and just melt the caramel as a dipping sauce. :)

    Powdered sugar doesn't work. I tried this at Halloween. I would have tried plain old melted sugar coating... But meh. Oh well!!

Autumn apples: Decor apples, use pretzel logs (don't forget to dip pretzels in chocolate and toppings and thoroughly cooled 1st) and dip ends in caramel and cool for a min then push inside apples. Dip apples in caramel, let extra drip off and then roll in toppings! Cool and enjoy! (don't get oversized apples or pretzels might break!)
