Snuggle up. Two Snow Monkeys share some warmth during a cold spell at the Born Free USA Primate Sanctuary in Texas.

The Born Free USA Primate Sanctuary provides a safe, permanent home to nonhuman primates rescued from exploitation and abuse.

The youngsters are learning the proper monkey method of gift extraction, which should come in hand next December (if not sooner).

This petite Bonnet macaque, nicknamed Lil-bit, is enjoying some crunchy romaine lettuce. We provide the monkeys a variety of fruits and vegetables to supplement their nutritionally complete diet, but most individuals have their favorites and Lil-bit is no exception.

It takes not only love & dedication to properly house & care for these innocent creatures - but also money. Please consider donating to Born Free USA.

With temperatures over 102 every day for the last two weeks we've all been busy trying to stay somewhat cool in the brutal heat of south Texas. The monkeys have gotten pretty good at it! http://on.fb.me/1MGVGi0

Residents at the Born Free USA Primates Sanctuary in south Texas awoke February 4th, 2011 to a dusting of snow and very low temperatures. But at least grapes are good chilled.

We've received a good amount of much-needed rain over the last few days, which provided plenty of puddles for biscuit soaking and mud squishing. http://on.fb.me/144Gp8i

Regal Kaleb enjoying a pleasant morning. He has now taken over the alpha position in the enclosure and seems very comfortable in the role. http://on.fb.me/1DHSrkq

One of the wild monkeys in our Main enclosure displays some bipedalism in the hopes of attracting a banana throw from the food truck. Mission accomplished! http://on.fb.me/1INe1dj
