I have been looking for hats to make, I think this one will be on the list! :) Texas here we come!
this is very straightforward and fun to crochet... I made once a party version of it from kid silk (without an upper rub collar, naturally) and will love to try this heavier version.
Free Pattern: Swirled Ski Cap by Caps for Kids from Knitting for Peace: “Features a unique construction technique. The body is worked flat, from side to side, with a vertical stripe pattern. Simultaneously, decreases are worked on one end and increases on the other, which gives the hat a parallelogram shape--a rectangle with a slant. When the parallelogram is sewn together, the stripes naturally swirl around the hat.”
