The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz: A book worth reading more than once!

  • ann marie

Per DePaul's Alumni Call "Strategies for Career Success", this was a recommended book by guest speaker career coach Laura Sterkel. The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom. The four agreements are these: Be impeccable with your word. Don't take anything personally. Don't make assumptions. Always do your best. It's the how and why one should do these things that make The Four Agreements worth reading and remembering.

The Four Agreements: These are the Four Agreements from Don Miguel Ruiz's book. If you have never read this book I strongly encourage you to pick it up. It is a great guide to personal freedom, or as Ruiz puts it: transcending hell on earth.

“Wishing you could unread a book so you could read it again for the first time.”

I received this book from Christmas and really enjoy the content. It approaches depression and unhappiness from a holistic and integrative approach. He provides the reader with good approaches as well as metaphors. I think this is a great book to spark thoughts on your own emotional sea level.

How can I call myself a lover of literature if I don't give a shout out to Dr. Seuss? Seriously!!! This is where it all began. I loved Aesop's Fables too. My love of words started right here.
