Microwave Popcorn: 1/2 c unpopped popcorn, 1 tea vegetable oil, 1/2 tea salt, or to taste * Directions: In a small bowl, mix together the unpopped popcorn & oil. Pour the coated corn into a brown paper lunch sack, and sprinkle in the salt. Fold the top of the bag over twice to seal in the ingredients. Cook in the microwave at full power for 2 1/2 to 3 minutes, or until you hear pauses of about 2 seconds between pops. Carefully open the bag to avoid steam, and pour into a serving bowl.
Easy Microwave Rice: Here's what you need: Large Pyrex/glass bowl with lid, 3 cups dry rice 1/2 stick - 1 stick butter (optional) 5.5 cups water Here's what you do: Add rice to bowl Set butter on top of rice Add water Put lid on bowl. Microwave on high for 23 minutes (cooking time will vary per microwave). Fluff with and fork and enjoy.
