Dippity Do. Used to use this to try to straighten my wavy hair. Countless nights of going to bed with Dippity do on my hair which was taped down with masking tape... LOL

Dippity do - the original hair gel! My m always used this on us and put our hair in sponge rollers to sleep!!! Ouch!!! But sure do miss the smell of the dippity do!
Dippity-do Styling Gel I'd put this on a small strand of hair, comb, and put a brush, or foam roller in my hair,
with sponge rollers or pin curls!
I had one of these. I can't remember how many times I managed to poke myself with the pointy end...

library card catalog...fond childhood memories!
Want to blow a kids mind? Tell them that the research paper due next week has to be done using ONLY the library card catalogue and the Dewey Decimal System! NO COMPUTERS OR SEARCH ENGINE ALLOWED! Think they'd appreciate us "old farts" a little more then? In today's world, having to do a research paper the old school way is far worse than having "to walk to school, in the snow, up a hill both ways"!
library card catalogue Remember this well as I worked in the school library for a time...
I <3 old school library card catalogues. #reading #library #books #classic

vintage Prell shampoo, it smelled sooo good! In a glass bottle! But do you remember them dropping a pearl in it so you could see how thick it was?
Remember Prell Shampoo? When the glass bottles were replaced by a "shatter proof" plastic one in the early 70s, my friend decided to see if it was shatter-proof - it was not!
I've seen this in my local Wal-Mart. That was a walk down memory lane.
Brings back childhood memories on hair washing days
Prell Shampoo -remember, this had a pearl in the bottle.
Prell Shampoo... Man that stuff fuzzed my hair! in a glass bottle

love the old card file drawers!
A beautiful thing: The Library Hotel's books are organized by the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC), created by Melvile Dewey in 1876. Today the DDC is used in more than 200,000 Libraries in 135 countries around the world.
NOSTALGIA---> I was lucky enough to use these. Until the advent of digital catalogues, card catalogues were the traditional method of organizing the list of resources and their location within a large library.

Very steam punk typewriter
Crandall typewriter 1886
One of my favourite things about antique typewriters like this 1886 Crandall New Model is the ornate designs and decals. You'll almost never find them on newer, vintage typewriters (those from c. 1950 onward). Even some of those from the 20s and 30s lacked such detail.
Crandall New Model.1886.
