Robert Hall Cabernet Sauvignon 2009 Paso Robles, CA (88pts/B+ Value/$11.99TraderJoe's): Red & black fruit, cedar, chocolate & allspice on the nose. Black cherry, raspberry & blackcurrant on the palate plus secondary notes of vanilla, cinnamon & tobacco. The tannins are still young & aggressive, so give it at least 30-60mins in the decanter. The alcohol is a touch hot, and the finish too short to consider lengthy ageing, but still a good wine at even better value.

Cono Sur Cabernet - A great tasting Chilean wine with hints of black currants, blackberries, cocoa and espresso. Pairs great with grilled meats, strong cheeses, pasta and hearty stews. And organic as well. Priced around $12-$14.
