Book Review: Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake | Drunk On Pop http://drunkonpop.com/2012/10/17/review-anna-dressed-in-blood-by-kendare-blake/
Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna #1) by Kendare Blake (Anna #1). For three years, seventeen-year-old Cas Lowood has carried on his father's work of dispatching the murderous dead, traveling with his kitchen-witch mother and their spirit-sniffing cat, but everything changes when he meets Anna, a girl unlike any ghost he has faced before. Young Adult | Fiction | Paranormal.
Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake. Cas Lowood and his mother travel around, trying to help restless spirits move on to the afterlife. Cas thinks he’s seen it all, until he encounters Anna Korlov, the ghost of a murdered teenager who kills anyone who sets foot inside her haunted house. Everyone, that is, except for Cas. There’s plenty of dark humor to spice up the novel, but its core, this is a creepy and chilling ghost story.

Inexcusable Author: Chris Lynch "I am a good guy. Good guys don't do bad things. Good guys understand that no means no, and so I could not have done this because I understand." Keir Sarafian knows many things about himself. He is a talented football player, a loyal friend, a devoted son and brother. Most of all, he is a good guy. And yet the love of his life thinks otherwise. Gigi says Keir has done something awful. Something unforgivable. Keir doesn't understand. He loves Gigi. He would never do anything to hurt her. So Keir carefully recounts the events leading up to that one fateful night, in order to uncover the truth. Clearly, there has been a mistake. But what has happened is, indeed, something inexcusable.
A collection of young adult books that would appeal to adult readers unfamiliar with the genre.

Reading Rumpus: Stealing Heaven by Elizabeth Scott - Book Review
Danielle and her mother have spent years traveling from town to town, making their living by selling items stolen from upscale homes. Dani must evaluate her past life and what she will do in the future when she begins to make friends in a new town.
Book review: I liked the book but it was kind of slow in the middle area. The ending had good meaning. Worth reading? Yes. Read again? Naahhh. Not really my type of book.

"There was only one catch and that was Catch-22, which specified that a concern for one's own safety in the face of dangers that were real and immediate was the process of a rational mind. Orr was crazy and could be grounded. All he had to do was ask; and as soon as he did, he would no longer be crazy and would have to fly more missions."

Yossarian sidled up drunkenly to Colonel Korn at the officers' club one night to kid with him about the new Lepage gun that the Germans had moved in. "What Lepage gun?" colonel Korn inquired with curiosity. "The new three hundred and forty four millimeter Lepage glue gun," Yossarian answered. "It glues a whole formation of planes together in mid-air." #ACoseSecond #Catch22
Book Cover for "Catch-22" by Joseph Heller, designed by Paul Bacon, Simon & Schuster, 1961
My favorite book. It makes me laugh out loud while reading alone, which I can't say of any other book I've read, but it's painfully poignant as well. Heller is a master of black comedy.
A funny book
Read this in high school. LOVED IT!
The Kite Runner is the story of Amir, a Sunni Muslim, who struggles to find his place in the world because of the aftereffects and fallout from a series of traumatic childhood events. An adult Amir opens the novel in the present-day United States with a vague reference to one of these events, and then the novel flashes back to Amir's childhood in Afghanistan.

The Book Thief is the story of Liesel Meminger. Liesel is almost ten when she ends up in Molching with Hans and Rosa Hubermann, her new foster parents. It is 1939. In Nazi Germany. Through their eyes we see Hitler and Nazi Germany; we experience the atrocities and the small kindnesses. Zusak’s story is mostly about everyday things: hunger, pettiness, laughter, hope, cruelty and kindness. Loved it.
Set during WWII, a really great novel

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. Sophomore Title Choice. Trying to make sense of the horrors of World War II, Death relates the story of Liesel: a young German girl whose book-stealing and story-telling talents help sustain her family and the Jewish man they are hiding, as well as their neighbors.
The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak (Book Club Kit). It’s just a small story really, about among other things: a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of thievery.
Steppenwolf for Young Adults presents its stage adaptation of "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak. Chicago, IL. October 16, 2012 to November 11, 2012.
OP says :The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. this book made me sob. In public. On the train. I did that thing where you hold the book up so nobody can see your face, but I'm pretty sure everyone still knew. GREAT BOOK.

The Host (The Host, #1) Seriously, one of my favorite books. I don't know where this Stephenie Meyer was when Twilight was being written, but I probably would've liked Twilight a lot more if this Stephenie Meyer had written it as well :|

And so, Stanley Yelnats seems set to serve an easy sentence, which is only fair because he is as innocent as you or me. But Stanley is not going where he thinks he is. Camp Green Lake is like no other camp anywhere. Nor is it a camp, at least not the kind of camp kids look forward to in the summertime. It is a place that once held "the largest lake in Texas," but today it is only a scorching desert wasteland, dotted with countless holes dug by the boys who live at the camp.
