Scattergories is a good method to reviewing new words or vocabulary words.  At the end of a unit, semester, or year (or at the beginning to review last year's words) choose a topic (such as food, places, transportation, sports) and a letter (for example s) and have the students raise against the clock to see how many they can list.  **This website has some scattergories cards prepared.
