Homemade Dishwasher Soap & Rinse Aid via Mix 1 cup Borax + 1 cup Washing Soda + 1/2 cup Citric Acid (double for hard water) + 1/2 cup Kosher Salt in a container; shake it up well. Fill "Rinse Aid" compartment w/ white vinegar. Use 1 tbsp dishwasher soap per load. To deal w/ clumping (due to Citric Acid): add rice (in a tea infuser) to the detergent container to absorb the moisture or add 1/2 tsp citric acid separately to each load rather than adding it to the detergent.
