I did this idea this summer--I put wave petunias and golden moneywort in my wash tub planter--it looks pretty good. I put the washtub in one of my flower beds where a bunch of weeds were growing.

hydrangas in a wheel-barrow-hmmm For whatever season, place a distressed wheelbarrow near an entryway, use seasonal containers (like hollowed pumpkins in the fall) to hold flowers that are in bloom, and if you want a flourishing touch add coordinating material/ ribbon,etc. Can be as rustic or sophisticated as you'd like!
An old license plate is bent, shaped, and upcycled into a rustic wall planter. License plates never looked so good.
