This abandoned beauty in New Orleans is the result of Hurricane Katrina and the floods. Very sad. It was obviously an incredible home.

Lucien Moore house.. in 2001. There have been many incredible pictures taken of this place in decay. It's size and architectural complexity made it all the more impressive as it drifted into a dark, Gothic oblivion. With the disappearance of most of the mansions of Brush Park in Detroit, it was a huge surprise to learn that it was being rebuilt as a project of HGTV.

There used to be a lot of homes similar to this around when I was a kid...and didn't care to go explore :(

...once a lovely farmhouse, filled with life and love****now just a memory of what it used to be... did old chimney work? Why were there three hearth-looking holes? Did fires on three floors share the same chimney? That doesn't sound right. Anyone know? - staircase, is old but sooo cool
