"Early American Country Homes: A Return to Simpler Living" by Tim Tanner

Someday, when I'm an old professor, this is exactly what I imagine the view into my living room will look like.

Cozy living room. Think I'd like for my hermit room to be white with pinks and grays and a lovely knitted blanket.

love this table, and the deep green fireplace mantle.. usually not a green girl!

Cozylicious! I'd love to have a fireplace in the kitchen, especially if it had a brick bread oven along with it.

The homeowners salvaged vintage bricks and worked with a local mason to turn them into a colonial-style fireplace. | Photo: John Gruen

I like the idea of the baskets sitting on top of the beams.

Thats like the exposed brick we have.. Great ideas to work with!! And that is exactly how our our floor is.. I love the nails they used back then..i found a jar of a few of them in the garage the previous owners saved from one of the remodeIs and i keep them on display in a pewter sugar bowl on top of the fire place in the log room.. Great conversation piece!!
