Perfect Southern Sweet Tea Recipe, 6 regular tea bags, 1/8 tsp baking soda, 2 cups boiling water, 1 1/2 cups sugar & 6 cups cold water

    • Brandy Merritt

The way I personally brew my sweet tea. 1. bring 6 cups of water just up to a boil, and remove from heat. 2. add a pinch of baking soda to the water and put in a gallon sized tea bag (made especially for iced tea) or approx. 6 regular tea bags. Brew for at least 10 min. 3. remove tea bag(s) and stir in 1 1/2 cup sugar till dissolved 4. pour into a glass container and add 6 cups of cold water. Stir 5. Chill and enjoy!
