Kirsty Mitchell photography: Lady of the Lake Wonderland @Charles Schoenfeld Holzworth, this reminded me of a conversation we had in front of that pond in the woods "just how deep do you think she'd sink?"
Lady of The Lake. Wonderland series by Kirsty Mitchell, dedicated to the memory of her late mother, Maureen.
Beautiful photograph of a mermaid or water nymph standing amongst a field of water lilies.
Kirsty Mitchell took more than 5 years to create this #storybook with no words – each image of this project tells a story and the title is “She’ll Wait for You In The Shadows of Summer”. This was funded by himself in memory of his late mother. You can see different #exotic #Goddess from this #wonderland and each has its story. To get the #extraordinary photo shoot, she pushed herself to the limit and got successful. Let’s hear from #photographers behind the story and process how it was achieved.

point and shoot camera tips. the one tip I keep seeing - turn your ideas about using flash upside-down. Use it in daylight to prevent shadows. Turn it off in dark situations and prop the camera on something - a longer exposure time uses the light in the room to create a more natural effect.

Just because you've got a relatively inexpensive point-and-shoot camera and not a $1500+ DSLR rig doesn't mean you can't take awesome photos. Here's a look at how you can elevate your regular old point-and-shoot shots to greatness.

There are TWO methods to focusing, one is called “focus recompose” and the other is to toggle the focal points on your DSLR to manually choose the focal point closest to the eye of your subject in the composition in front of you. There are actually two other types of focusing, one where your camera automatically tries to select one or two focus points FOR you and also AI Servo mode, but I don’t recommend these modes because we are striving to learn and control our focus, not let the camera make it’s own decisions. So for the purpose of this post, lets assume and/or turn our focus mode to use manual focus select. To do this, you need to press the autofocus select button - on canons it’s the button circled on the top right and then use the joystick arrows to move the focus points around on the rebel models:
Christmas Tree Photo Tips via lilblueboo.comISO: 1600 (which is as high as my camera will go) Aperture: f/2.5 (if your camera doesn’t go that low, set it for as low as it will go) Shutter Speed: 1/50 (After I took this photo I actually lowered my shutter speed to 1/30 which I liked even more, but at that point I couldn’t keep the dog in the photo. Next year!)

Charm School - vintage kids. Why do we not continue enforcing lady like behavior? The girls these days are not at all charming
Books made the young girls well-read with good posture. Moppets Charm School, by Arthur Rickerby for LIFE Magazine. 1962. Rickerby’s (1921–1972) most famous works are his sports photography, especially his color photography essays, and his photographs of the Kennedy administration. His work is most noted for its realism and pioneering use of the 35 mm camera and the early zoom lens. “A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.” — Coco Chanel
