So Cute for the 4th of July! nautical nail tutorial

  • Aubrey Cowin

AHOY, friends!! We found a fun new way to do NAUTICAL! We used the straight strips that come in this french manicure kit to make our stripes! Might be one of the easiest nail art manicures ever! Painting stripes can be a big challenge, but this is pretty simple… Paint the base navy blue. We used American Apparel’s “Passport Blue” polish $6 Next, apply the white strips from the Sally Hansen’s French Manicure Kit $6.50 Using small scissors or cuticle nippers, clip the strips as close to the edge of your nail as possible. Use a thin paint brush to create hearts on the nail wherever you want. Here we used Essie’s “Geranium” $7.50 to make ours. Last but not least, apply your top coat! Our favorite is Sally Hansen’s Insta-Dri $4.04 because it dries SO fast.

Time to try out a new manicure - one that involves geometry! As far as manicure math goes, we know this: geometric shapes + new, fall nail colors = need-to-have nails. For this nail art tutorial you'll need: gray nail polish, Armani nail lacquer in Kaleidoscope scissors, tape, and top coat.

Firework nails! Step by step instructions included, if you're into that. Fireworks!

Turquoise & Caicos is one of my favorite Essie colors, so no surprise I like this dotted mani. Try out your own color combo using the same technique.

School supplies like ring binder enforcers are just what you need for a half moon manicure.

1.Punch out tissue paper circles. Put about 5-7 pieces on top of each other to get a good solid punch. 2.Paint the base of the nails with any color you want. 3.Use a pen to pick up the pieces of confetti and lay them down on the wet nail polish.
